When it comes to axes, the floor is open to many different types. You’ve got splitting axes, felling axes, broad axes and a few others. Then you’ve got the hatchet… A small, generally lightweight axe designed for use in one hand specifically while camping or travelling.

The Compadre Camp Axe by Buck Knives has been developed with this in mind. It’s main purpose being an all-round camp axe which could be used for everything from chopping wood to preparing food.

The Compadre Camp Axe is a perfect size for most backpacks, and it comes with a leather cover to hopefully take away the chance of injury while being carried to camp.

Each axe weighs in at 23.4oz and comes with a 3 inch blade made from 5160 steel featuring a Heritage Walnut Dymonwood handle. Buck have designed the Compadre axe in such a way to ensure it’s as easy as possible to use, and they’ve finished it off with a red powdercoat to off-set the risk of corrosion (and to make it look pretty badass).

You can pick one of these bad-boys up for $120.00 over at Buck Knives.
